The first ever circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight proves a ‘game-changer’ for the feasibility of fully-electric boating

The Isle of Wight has been circumnavigated in a fully electric boat for the first time.

On 12 June, the Optima e10 set off from its homebase of Lymington in the New Forest, taking just under six hours to complete its 51 nautical mile journey around the island.
